In Bellport, Rotary 7260's Gift of Life Program introduces Dr. William Novick to supporters of the Gift of Life Program. In conjunction with Dr. Novick and his team of volunteers, the Gift of Life Program has saved 109 lives this year alone.

Rotary 7260's Gift of Life Program brings children in from third world countries to perform open heart surgery on those who otherwise would not reach their teenage years. They have completed five medical missions so far and provided 109 children with corrective heart surgery. Dr. William Novick from the International Children's Heart Foundation joins the Gift of Life Program and performs free surgeries on the children. He says that the surgery is not the most important benefit, however, but the education they provide to medical staff in the third world countries they visit, so that they can aid their own residents.
