Holiday Lights, Camera, Action, …at Awixa Castle!

This holiday season, Mr. Weiss and his family turned on over 250,000 holiday lights on over 3 acres of land and opened up his property to the community.

If you’re looking to view some great holiday lights, put Awixa Castle on your holiday itinerary. Awixa Castle is located at 47 Awixa Avenue in Bay Shore, NY. The history of the land goes back to 1708 and the history of the castle begins in 1904, but Joe Weiss and his family started making history 3 years ago when they purchased a broken-down Awixa Castle.

Mr. Weiss undertook a 10 year project to restore the inside of the castle to how it was 100 years ago and the restoration project is well underway. However, he decided to share the castle with the community by giving back in some unique and inspiring ways.

Awixa Castle is donated 4-6 times per year to support not for profit affairs and meetings. In the recent past, Awixa has hosted and supported events for Kamp Kiwanis, The Hospice Care Network’s Children’s Bereavement Program, The Morgan Center, The Family Service League, and Bay Shore Beautification Society.

This holiday season, Mr. Weiss and his family turned on over 250,000 holiday lights on over 3 acres of land and opened up his property to the community. Their holiday light show, representing all holidays, is also a fundraiser for 3 charitable initiatives including Kamp Kiwanis, a summer camp for underprivileged children, Frank Lambert Toys for Kids Drive, and a Coat Drive for Islip area adults and kids.

In addition to the lights, Santa Claus and the “King” of Awixa Castle greeted every guest with some sweet treats!
