Eastern Suffolk BOCES and Suffolk Community College Students Help Secure Five 2009 "Best on Long Island" (BOLI) Award Nominations for MyLITVCementing
its position as one of Long Island's major media players, the
three-year old web video station, MyLITV.com, has been nominated for
five 2009 BOLI (Best On Long Island) awards by the Long Island Ad Club. RONONKOMA, NY -- Cementing its position as one of Long Island's major media players, the three-year old web video station, MyLITV.com, has been nominated for five 2009 BOLI (Best On Long Island) awards by the Long Island Ad Club. From Great Neck to the Great South Bay and beyond, MyLITV.com has been feverously providing exciting "personal" video news coverage of the people and events that make our communities great. Students from Eastern Suffolk BOCES, Suffolk County Community College and average citizens helped tell the stories that fueled the success of this year's nominated videos. "We are proud to be nominated for 'Best on Long Island' honors and we are even prouder to have done it with the help of top local talent. We look forward to providing more personal stories created by citizen reporters from every town, village and hamlet on Long Island," said MyLITV.com President Waldo Cabrera.
THE ELITE SPORTS FORUM: Production partners: MyLITV, Eastern Suffolk BOCES, Elite Sports Medicine Teenage film students from Eastern Suffolk BOCES, record games at their own high school and the footage is edited at the BOCES and MyLITV studios. The fast paced videos include game action, interviews with parents, the coaches, the band, the cheerleaders and, of course, the players. There's a special energy to these game recaps and it is all due to the fact that its kids reporting on kids.
JUSTICIA PARA KENNY LAZO:Production partners: MyLITV, Suffolk County Community College (Grant Campus) Internship Program Suffolk Community College Intern, Luis Diaz, was the reporter for the video "Justicia Para Kenny Lazo" and he lives only blocks away from the protest site. He captured the anger and sorrow of the moment without ever uttering a word on camera. Although it's almost all in Spanish, you don't need to know what the crowd is saying in order to feel their pain. Subtitles were left out, because there are no subtitles in life.
MEMORIAL DAY OBSERVANCE: Producer: MyLITV "VFW Memorial Day Observance" shows MyLITV's ability to "ZIG" when the big media companies "ZAG." Instead of attending the big traditional ceremonies, MyLITV showed up to a small bar-b-que in Brentwood where World War II and Korean Veterans gathered to pay their respects. Without use of a "traditional reporter" a very touching story was told. After viewing this video, you too will feel as if you personally know the members of VFW Post 6431.
